Devon Tariek Brawley,redbullhats 17, has been arrested on charges of possessing a firearm on school grounds and carrying a weapon on school grounds. A 15-year-old is charged with possessing a firearm on school grounds.
Lexington County deputies say Irmo High administrators found a 9-mm hi point handgun in a book bag that belonged to the 15-year-old male student. At the time of the discovery, officers say Brawley had the book bag.
Investigators also say when they searched Brawley,louisvuittonleatherhandbags they found a Frost black-and-white folding blade knife clipped to his boxer shorts.
Investigators do not believe either of the students brought the weapons to harm anyone. Monday, Brawley was booked at hte Lexington County Detention Center, while the 15-year-old was released into his mother's custody. The 15-year-old's charges, investigators say, will be heard in family court.
